Chef Mei’s Supper Club Menu

Spanish-Style Tapas Chef Mei’s style!

Tapas is not a particular type of food, but rather a way of eating. It is not a starter or a main meal. It is best defined as enjoying small portions of various dishes while encouraging people to mingle and converse amongst themselves.

The philosophy behind tapas is similar to Chef Mei’s Supper Club; enjoying great food and wine with good friends. Sample Chef Mei’s rustic tapas offerings of small size dishes with full size flavor. To enhance your tapas experience, wine pairing suggestions are added to the end of the dishes.

Tapas Menu

Gazpacho Cordoba
This gazpacho hails from Cordoba, Spain (hence the name). A chilled thick soup of pureed tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, seasoned with sherry vinegar and fresh herbs.

Best enjoyed with Manzanilla Sherry.

Machengo with Quince Paste
Machengo cheese is one of Spain’s most noteworthy cheeses produced in the La Mancha region. It has a firm and compact consistency with a buttery texture. Often served with Quince paste producing a happy union of flavors.

Great with Spanish Rosé.

Fried Eggplant with Honey, Mint and Sesame Seeds
This dish hails from Andalusia with North African touches of honey and mint come by way of the Moors, who ruled the region for centuries.

Best with Verdejo.

Patatas Brava (Crisp Spiced Potatoes)
Quintessential Tapas fare! Cubes of potatoes cooked till crisp and topped with a lightly spiced red sauce. A Tapas must have!

Best with Verdejo.

Sausage and Cheese Tortilla

Another popular Tapas fare of Spanish-style omelet. This is my version of the popular dish with Spanish Chorizo, thinly sliced potatoes, Machengo cheese, and fresh herbs fold into the egg mixture, slow cooked until nice and golden.

Best with Tempranillo.

Chicken Croquetas
Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with shredded chicken. This little bites are sure to please your taste buds.

Great with white Rioja.

Squid with Bacon and Garlic Oil

No Tapas is complete without a squid or calamari dish. Here is a simple offering of squid quickly sauteed with bacon lardons, garlic, and fresh herbs.

Best with Verdejo.

Pinchos Morunos (Moorish Kebab)
This seasoned skewered beef is inspired by Moorish cuisine. Seasoned with a variety of spices such as cumin and paprika, a popular tapas dish in Spain.

Best with Ganarcha.

DESSERT

Almond Cake
A perfect ending to a tapas meal. Almond cake varies from different areas of Spain. This moist cake has a hint of citrus with grounded blanched almonds folded into the batter and dust with confectioner’s sugar.
